The Big Sing
Published: 4th May 2018
We all had a brilliant day yesterday, joining in with “The Big Sing” at the Norfolk show ground, and despite some misgivings about the change of venue, the children enjoyed themselves very much. The weather was perfect, dare I say even a little too sunny for some perhaps!! and the picnic-style event suited the children well.
I have had very positive feedback from parents and lots of acknowledgements for the way we managed 123 children in such a large crowd. Thank you, as always we are aware that it is a privilege to be entrusted with the care of your children at these kinds of events.
One of the issues with an open air singing event is that the acoustics are poor and I am aware that parents really couldn’t hear the singing which is a great pity as the children have worked so hard to learn the songs, and sing so enthusiastically in the school hall. So we have decided that on the afternoon of the Celebration Day (Friday 18th May) after the street party – we will sing to parents.
Due to numbers we are unable to invite all parents to the actual eating of the food but you are all very welcome to come and hear the children sing afterwards from 2pm.
Hopefully it will be another lovely day and we can sing on the steps of the hall with parents sitting outside on the grass, (bring picnic chairs or a rug). We will sell cakes that have been donated and serve refreshments.
If the weather is inclement then we will sing indoors and just have to get cosy!
We hope you will be able to join us.
