Alpington Action Day
Thursday 27th May has been Alpington Action day.
At Alpington we know that our “Lights Shine” best when we show love for one another, have faith in God and take ACTION!
Our school council have been thinking all year about antibullying and how to keep us all safe from bullying in school, at home and in the wider community. You can watch our video here.
“Bullying is not about Alpington. It’s about the whole word.” Matilda Year 4
There are lots of different kinds of bullying that can affect people of all ages everywhere. At Alpington we wanted to take action to show that we stand against bulling and for love, kindness and respect.
“Treat others as you would like to be treated should be the rule everywhere”. Charlotte year 2
Today we held a protest around our village to show that we want to say NO to bullying everywhere. We know that our voice is important and that we have a right to be heard. We also talked about the way we express our views – with respect and understanding.
The school council invited other schools to take part too. We were really pleased that Thurton Primary school were able to join us in a “United against bullying” day. You can see what they got up to by clicking here.
All the children have been taking action today over something that is important to them. Please see our class pages for an update on what each class has been up to.
Florence was worried and upset by a news report she saw about the COVID 19 crisis in India, so she decided to take action. She and her committee organised an Alpington Talent show to raise money for the Red Cross to help people affected by the crisis. You can watch it on our Stream Channel and we really hope that you enjoy it!
If you would like to make a donation, please pay into the school account using the usual details and adding “Alpington Action” to your payment. Thank you.
