Music plays an important part in the life of Alpington & Bergh Apton Primary School. The children receive music lessons from qualified music staff; the children in Keystage 2 play instruments, sing and work on rhythms and composition with a member of the County music service. They showcase what they have been learning to parents at the end of each term. Classes Skylarks and Owls are taught music using Charanga, which is a contemporary digital resource which reinforces music making and is supported by our County Music Hub. The children in Class Owls and Eagles all have whole school instrumental teaching and take part in the Norwich Music Festival.
In addition some pupils choose to have individual or small group tuition on piano, flute, clarinet, recorder and saxophone. Pupils also sing in an after school choir and there is the opportunity for more skilled pupils to play in the cluster orchestra and windband which meets at the school on Friday evenings.
