Mantel of the Expert
Romans

As part of this project, the children worked in groups, with each group assigned a particular area to research. They presented what they have discovered in several different ways, and every child contributed to at least one piece of work—although most contributed to more.

Our main focus was working effectively as a team, researching independently using different sources and presenting their ideas to a high standard, with careful attention to punctuation, sentence construction and the use of adjectives.

Each group completed at least four pieces of work from the following options: a poster, fact sheet, leaflet, podcast, labelled diagram, detailed description or first-person account. This variety gave the children opportunities to use different skills and choose formats that best communicated their learning.

The children learnt a lot during the project and already have ideas of how to improve next time.  They really enjoyed other teachers and children from across the school coming to see their brilliant work.
