“Let every light shine” Matt. 5 v 16

S.E.N.D.

Welcome to the SEND pages of Alpington and Bergh Apton Primary School website.  The aim of these pages is to provide information to parents of children with SEND, or those who are concerned that their child may have special needs.  We hope that you will find the information you need here.

If you have any queries about SEND provision at Alpington and Bergh Apton, please contact Mrs Welch head@alpington.norfolk.sch.uk or call the school office 01508 492700.

If you are concerned about your child the first thing to do is to contact your child’s teacher.  The best way to do this is to catch them at the end of the day on the playground or email the class email address.  These are on the class pages of this website.

In order to support parents in navigating their way through SEND provision at school and beyond, we have created this quick reference guide so you know what to expect at each stage of the process.  There is lots more information in our SEND report, which is listed below.

At Alpington and Bergh Apton Primary we believe that children with SEND should have access to the same broad, balanced and engaging curriculum as their peers.  We also know that this curriculum will need to be adapted to meet the needs of individual learners.  Please click here to see how we make decisions about the curriculum.

The SEND local offer  is part of the Norfolk Local Offer for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. All school governing bodies have a legal duty to publish information on their website about the policy for S.E.N.D. and must be updated annually.

Below is a link to some FREE events run by Norfolk county council which may be useful.  Keep an eye on this link as the events are updated regulalry..

In order to improve services and provision for SEND children in Norfolk, the virtual school for SEND are collecting new information about the children in our school who have SEND, what their needs are and the provision the school has in place to support them.  The document below includes information for parents to explain this process.
