“Let every light shine” Matt. 5 v 16

Christingle Service

Thank you to everyone who attended our Christingle at church on Tuesday.  It was so lovely to see so many people there and the church filled to bursting!

We thought about the meaning of each part of the Christingle, especially the candle which represents God’s love shining out across the world.  We talked about the people in the world who most needed God’s love at the moment.  Children’s ideas included the homeless, people who were sad or lonely and people in places where there was war, including Ukraine and Gaza.  We also thought about how we can let our lights shine this Christmas, with ideas about how we could show God’s love at home with our families.

We lit our Christingles and listened to the song “Child in a Manger born” sung to us by the children.

It was a lovely service and a great way to start Christmas.

Happy Christmas everyone!
